How long is the Drive and how much of it can I sign up for?

The drive goes for 41 days with 9 packages, you can sign up for as many packages as you like.

What is the route?

Longreach, Muttaburra, Aramac, Ilfracombe, Barcaldine, Blackall.

What are the ways I can support the Drive?

Come along and join us, register for a package, become a sponsor, make a donation.

How long am I in the saddle each day if I take part in riding?

The longest day is approximately 10 hours, the shortest day is approximately 8 hours.  The boss drover determines the length of the day.

Do I need my own horse?

You are welcome to bring your own horse, however we have suitable horses for everyone.

Do I need to know how to drive cattle?

No you don't.

Where do I sleep?

In YOUR OWN swag in a designated area in the drovers camp.

What are the amenities like for toilets and showers?

A bush toilet is provided, showers are limited and some camps do not have a shower.

What do the meals mostly consist of? Breaky, lunch, dinner, snacks?

Breakfast is cooked, lunch is salad and sandwiches, morning tea is carried in your saddle bag and eat on the go, dinner is amazing camp oven cooked dinner.

What do I wear?

Day time - Comfortable riding clothes, heeled closed in boots, a helmet, a warm jacket is required.

What happens if the weather turns bad?

You might get wet, the boss drover will determine plan B for the raining days.

Is there wi-fi along the route?

Yes there is, we have a sponsor who is providing that.

Can I have a day off from riding if I get tired or injured?

Yes you can, we have a 4 x wheeler you can also ride along in.

Are there events along the way?

There are many many events along the length of the stock route all organized by the towns and communities we pass through.
